On behalf of Great British Energy, we are looking for People & Talent Interviewers x 2 - (Inside IR35) for a 9-month contract working on a hybrid basis and with an expectation of attendance in the Aberdeen office. Travel to Edinburgh is also expected for which expenses will be paid.

Great British Energy will be a publicly owned, operationally independent energy company, designed to drive clean energy deployment, boost energy independence, create jobs and ensure UK taxpayers, billpayers and communities reap the benefits of clean, secure, homegrown energy.

To this end and as an example of what it can achieve, we have already agreed a major partnership between Great British Energy and The Crown Estate to accelerate deployment and support UK supply chains. Great British Energy will work collaboratively with industry, local authorities and communities, and other public sector organisations such as the National Wealth Fund, to spread skilled jobs and investment across the country.

While we go through the process of setting Great British Energy as a publicly owned energy company, these roles will initially be part of the Civil Service, however, will then be transferred to Great British Energy once the Great British Energy Bill becomes law and the company has the necessary procedures and systems in place to employ people directly.

As a People & Talent Interviewers x 2 - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver structured interviews across all levels of roles, ensuring consistency, fairness and professionalism.
  • Apply behavioural, skills-based and situational interviewing techniques to assess candidates effectively.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and align interview approach.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based feedback and recommendations following interviews.
  • Ensure all selection activity is fair, inclusive and compliant with GBE policies and best practice.
  • Act as a key ambassador for GBE, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout.
  • Maintain accurate interview notes, scoring and documentation with strong attention to detail.
  • Support high-volume recruitment campaigns while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of interview frameworks and question sets.
  • Work collaboratively across the HR and Resourcing team, demonstrating a strong team-first approach.

  • Significant experience delivering structured interviews across a variety of roles and levels.
  • Strong administrative background.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong expertise in behavioural, skills-based and situational interviewing techniques.
  • Background in resourcing / talent acquisition / recruitment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to assess and document candidate performance accurately.
  • Ability to provide objective, evidence-based feedback to support decision making.
  • High level of integrity, ensuring fair and consistent candidate assessment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and positive approach.
  • Comfortable working at pace in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supporting high-volume or campaign-based recruitment.
  • Experience developing structured interview frameworks.
  • Knowledge of private and public sector recruitment environments.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint.
