On behalf of National Savings & Investments (NS&I), we are looking for a Service Architect (Inside IR35) for a 6‑month contract based Hybrid (two days per week) in London, Durham or Glasgow.
NS&I is one of the largest savings organisations in the UK, operating as a government department and an executive agency.
This role is subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard and financial credit checks.
Responsibilities
- Establish and govern the organisation's service taxonomy framework.
- Develop and maintain hierarchical service structures across business services, capabilities, service offerings and applications.
- Develop Service Design Packages and associated documentation.
- Define service models, SLAs, support arrangements and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to incorporate service requirements into solution designs.
- Support service readiness assessments and governance reviews.
- Participate in design assurance and quality gate activities.
- Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders.
- Influence teams to adopt service‑oriented practices and ways of working.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Architect within large, complex organisations.
- Experience establishing Service Architecture as a recognised discipline.
- Strong service design and service implementation background.
- Demonstrable experience defining service taxonomy and classification frameworks.
- Experience creating Service Design Packages and Service Design Documents.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL v3 and/or ITIL 4.
