On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer Outside IR35 on a 12 months contract based Hybrid 2-3 days a week in London. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) pursues our national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world. DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
Responsibilities:
- As part of the OED Overseas Maintenance Strategy, support the development of new routes to market to overcome current capacity constraints.
- Provide technical review and challenge supply chain Procurement Reports submitted as part of the GMP.
- Monitor and report on operational delivery by contractors and suppliers across all GMP activities including review of any draft change requests prior to submission of that request.
- As directed by the Head of the GMP, oversee a regular planned and ad-hoc works audit programme to ensure that work is undertaken in line with the specified service level, standards and price and is fully compliant with all statutory and other obligations.
- As a minimum, the TSS will attend monthly regional board meetings.
- From a technical perspective, regularly review the forward maintenance registers (plans) prior to launching the Annual Programme of Works (APW) including review of correct allocation of priority and funding.
- Ensure full reporting and performance cycles are met by the supply chains, including, where appropriate, attending individual progress and update meetings, reviewing Service Level Agreement (SLA) KPI's, risk and issues logs, budget forecasting and actual expenditure via budget allocations, technical adherence and reporting.
Essential:
- Experience in working with construction contracts and completing construction contract administration.
- Experience using the following forms: NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract, Term Services Contract and Professional Services Contract.
- Mechanical or electrical background.
- Be a member of a recognised engineering/technical professional body such as CIBSE, IET, IMechE, IEEE, RICS, CIOB or similar.
