On behalf of the Ministry of Defence, we are looking for a Project Support Officer - Inside IR35 for a 12 Month contract based Hybrid - Remote & 3 days p/week in Corsham. Defence Digital provides digital and technology services to our Armed Forces, ensuring they can operate securely via radio, satellite, and the internet. Operating at scale, with an annual budget in excess of £2Bn and a diverse team of 2,500 colleagues, we are aiming to make our Armed Forces some of the most technologically advanced in the world. To do that we are growing our capabilities in disciplines like data science, automation and cyber security. The SATCOM SKYNET Team is responsible for the sustainment and development of the MOD's strategic, worldwide communications capability. The SATCOM Delivery Team is tasked with ensuring continuity of the required capability and its future development to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for defence communications and to defeat the growing array of sophisticated threats.
As a Project Support Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Support the identification, documentation, monitoring, and escalation of project risks and issues, ensuring mitigation plans are developed and maintained in line with departmental strategy.
- Coordinate regular risk and issue reviews with key stakeholders and provide clear, consistent advice to project and programme managers.
- Assist the project team with a wide range of administrative and coordination tasks to ensure smooth project delivery and alignment with objectives.
- Help track project performance and ensure adherence to departmental policies on security, health and safety, equality, and business continuity.
- Apply best practice project management processes and support the operation of business management activities on behalf of the project manager.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
You will have:
- Demonstrable Project Support experience - ideally within the public sector.
- Excellent Risk & Issue management experience - (RAIDO / ARM).
- IT Literacy - MS Office.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- A relevant PM qualification - APM / Prince 2 / MoR etc.
- Previous Defence experience - desirable.
