On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a AWS DevOps Engineer for a 9-month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in either Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle – 3 days per week.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill‑health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to providing advice and guidance to others in the organisation.
  • Take responsibility for large blocks of work, leading teams of varied disciplines and breaking down user stories into tasks.
  • Design and manage tactics for building reusable libraries, templates and services; own the development of medium‑to‑long‑term strategies for product lines within your Functional and Professional Communities.
  • Communicate regularly with a wide range of internal and external organisations and contacts, contributing to the strategic direction for DevOps teams and the wider Engineering community.
  • Lead the sharing of knowledge, documentation and good practice with the wider Engineering community.
  • Work closely with senior officers, providing advice, suggesting courses of action, and coaching, mentoring and supporting Software and DevOps Engineer colleagues and peers.

Essential Requirements

  • Active Security Clearance (SC) is required.
  • Previous AWS experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Terraform.

Note: This role can only be worked within the United Kingdom and not overseas.
