On behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), we are looking for an IT Security Manager (Inside IR35) for a 9‑month contract. The role is hybrid, based in one of the following locations: Cumbria, London, Warrington or Oxford, requiring two days per week on site.

The NDA is a non‑departmental public body established under the Energy Act 2004 with offices across the UK. This position focuses on strategic oversight of IT security for the organization’s nuclear decommissioning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage IT security across infrastructure, networks and cloud environments.
  • Implement security frameworks, policies, governance and controls.
  • Identify and mitigate IT security risks.
  • Lead incident response and improve system resilience and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies such as government regulators.
  • Contribute to IT security strategy, architecture and transformation.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of IT systems and security tools.
  • Experience in regulated environments and risk management.
  • Ability to design and implement security solutions, including for legacy systems.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills (technical and business).
  • Experience managing third‑party service providers (MSPs).
  • SC security clearance required; possession of an active clearance is essential.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, and active clearance is mandatory. The role can only be performed within the UK.
