On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (four days per week onsite in Corsham). The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is a central government department with a mission to protect our country and provide the ultimate guarantee of its security and independence, as well as helping to protect its values and interests abroad.

Job Purpose

The role will predominantly be composing the documentation to run a competition such as Statement of Work and supporting documentation. They will need experience of producing an Outline Business Case and will then be part of the team conducting the competition.

Security Clearance

DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short‑term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/manage the project and the project team on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of the project to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Have a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.
  • Produce an Outline Business Case and will then be part of the team conducting the competition.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in preparing business cases from scratch, working with other stakeholders across the team.
  • Experienced with prepared statements of work and competition documents.
  • Stakeholder Engagement at all levels across the business.
  • Risk and issues management.
  • Strong self‑starter with a proactive approach to all duties.

Desirable Skills

  • MOD experience would be highly beneficial.
