On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a HR Digital and Workday Manager (Inside IR35) for a 14 month contract based hybrid in Reading.

What if you could work on something that you can't test but cannot afford to fail? Some challenge. That's exactly what the team of over 6,500 people at AWE do every day delivering important work, in support of the most important mission - keeping the nation safe.

AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a HR Digital and Workday Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Owning and driving the HR digital roadmap, prioritising and sequencing Workday enhancements.
  • Leading Workday optimisation and continuous improvement, managing upgrades.
  • Delivering HR digital projects end-to-end, ensuring outcomes align to HR operating needs.
  • Driving process improvement, automation and self-service across HR services.
  • Shaping and delivering change, communications and training to embed new functionality.
  • Using HR data and insights to improve decision-making and user experience.
  • Acting as the bridge between HR, IT and third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensuring all solutions meet security, governance and regulatory requirements.

Essential:

  • Proven experience delivering HR digital roadmap in complex environments.
  • Hands-on Workday experience (implementation, optimisation or major upgrades).
  • Strong project management capability across HR technology initiatives.
  • Confident stakeholder manager able to influence at all levels.
  • Able to create clear digital plans, challenge priorities and drive delivery.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and operating models.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in Defence, Government or highly regulated environments.
