On behalf of the DSTL, we are looking for HR Administrators x3 - (InsideIR35/PAYE) for a 12-month contract working on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 3 days per week working from the Salisbury office.

DSTL is the Ministry of Defence (MOD)'s science and technology organisation, providing unique expertise, crucial insights and delivering battle-winning solutions for the benefit of the nation and allies. DSTL is one of the principal government organisations dedicated to science and technology in the defence and security field.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • 1st Line HR Support: Respond to routine HR queries from employees and managers, including questions about policies, procedures, and employee benefits. Provide guidance on HR processes such as leave requests, payroll enquiries, and basic employee relations issues. Maintain accurate records of all queries and resolutions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse HR queries to identify trends and common issues. Prepare regular reports on query trends and provide insights to the HR team to inform decision-making. Assist in the development of strategies to address recurring HR issues based on data analysis.
  • HR Administration: Ensure all HR documentation is up-to-date and accurately maintained. Support the preparation of HR reports and metrics for senior management. Assist with the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and managing onboarding processes. Assist with the learning and development process, including processing requests, liaising with commercial, producing requisitions and processing invoices etc.
  • Employee Engagement: Contribute to the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives. Provide support for HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving the overall employee experience.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all HR activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies. Stay updated on HR best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes.

Essential:

  • Experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders or customers.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
  • Understanding of basic continuous improvement principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident with the use of Microsoft programmes such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

  • SC Clearance.
  • Experience of working in an HR or Corporate Services role.
  • Experience responding to routine HR queries related to leave, payroll, and benefits.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
