On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Building Surveyor (Inside IR35) for 3 months possible extension which is a hybrid role so does require up to 3 days a week either in the London Stratford office or another location for meetings. As a Building Surveyor, your main responsibilities will be:
- Working across buildings which may be railway buildings, including stations, depots, lineside assets, HV sites, REBs, and signal boxes
- Working with asset examination and inspection regimes, ensuring compliance and accurate condition assessment
- Working in maintenance and repair of diverse building types, with the ability to specify and oversee works
- Stakeholder engagement across busy teams which will include 3rd party suppliers and customers
- Working across busy teams, capable of guiding, supporting, and developing Assistant Engineers and Asset Engineers
- Work across financial and budget management capabilities, with may oversee asset portfolios, controlling spend, and ensuring value for money across maintenance and renewal activities.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience across building methodologies and skillset
- Project management which will include a portfolio of small projects
- Extensive stakeholder engagement which will include both 3rd party suppliers and customers
- Good understanding of the commercial, private sector or Industrial sectors
- Experience in reporting across maintenance and analysis of works
- Strong self-starter with a proactive approach to all duties
Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer/ Building Surveyor (or equivalent) level expertise, with a solid engineering foundation and professional credibility
Desirable Skills
- Rail experience in this skillset would be highly beneficial
