On behalf of DFT VCA, we are looking for a Senior Estates and Facilities Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract which is site based so does require 5 days a week in the Bristol office and also 1 day a month in the Nuneaton location. This role forms an essential part of the Corporate Affairs team, with responsibility for the management of buildings, property and services at our 3 UK sites. This role also has responsibility for security, business continuity, health and safety (H&S), and sustainability. The candidate also provides impartial advice to both staff and management across the agency whilst ensuring statutory compliance. To support the service delivery the post holder manages a small team of in-house staff and oversees the delivery of the total facilities management contract.
As a Senior Estates and Facilities Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- The daily planning, organisation and execution of Health and Safety activities across the Agency. Assessing risks and advising on policy requirements. Act as the focal point for the provision of Health & Safety advice to all staff.
- Investigating accidents/incidents/near misses on Agency sites. Implementation of any changes to policies and procedure that may be required following the results of an investigation.
- Advising all members of the Agency on delivering sustainable services. Oversee the performance indicators detailed within the Sustainability Strategy.
- Attending in support of, or as a representative of the Agency, meetings, project groups and outside bodies relevant to the duties of the post.
- Ensuring legal compliance across all UK sites and reporting to the Department as required.
Essential Skills
- Extensive knowledge of industrial/commercial facilities and the management of assets and buildings for all associated hard and soft service provisions.
- Extensive experience of Health and Safety Management Systems, Risk identification and workplace H&S in both engineering and office environments.
- Experience across both hard and soft facilities management delivery and skillset.
- In depth knowledge of Facilities Management Systems and Maintenance Systems.
- In depth knowledge of Term Service Contracts and their practical application.
- Ability to critically assess safety aspects of work activities within the workplace and the suitability of work equipment for use in specific activities.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH or ISOH qualification is essential for this role.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in total facilities management would be highly beneficial.
