About the Role: Great British Energy is looking for a Supply Chain Strategy and Engagement Lead to join our GBE Local Directorate Team. This role will play a key part in contributing to projects, objectives, and wider organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities: The postholder will play a central role in shaping, promoting and delivering Great British Energy's supply chain strategy, including:
- Build strong relationships and act as a trusted interlocutor for GBE across HMG, devolved governments and the public finance institutions to identify and escalate potential challenges and opportunities to deliver our funding.
- Working with the GBE Communications and External Affairs teams, lead the development of our Partnerships Strategy and Comms and Engagement Strategy, ensuring coherent external messaging and engagement across the £1bn Energy, Engineered in the UK programme.
- Actively participate in senior-level Boards, working groups, events and site visits to represent GBE, promote our funding and collate insights and evidence to feed back to the delivery teams.
- Contributing to a high performing, inclusive team culture, sharing knowledge and supporting continuous improvement across the Supply Chain function.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Strong understanding of the UK energy system.
- Significant experience in strategy development and/or stakeholder engagement within the energy sector.
- Ability to manage senior relationships across government, industry and public bodies.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively and build consensus with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the organisation credibly in external forums.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of UK energy and industrial policy, including good understanding of clean energy supply chains
- Experience working in the public sector, including within or alongside public finance institutions
- Familiarity with the supply chain of one or more of the following sectors:
- Offshore wind (fixed bottom and/or floating)
- Onshore wind
- Electricity networks
- Solar
- Energy storage
- Hydrogen
- CCUS
