To provide a comprehensive and professional legal service in all aspects of adult social care law.
To serve as a key source of expertise and knowledge in the relevant legal discipline.
To provide legal advice, guidance and practical assistance over the whole range of the Council's adult social care service focusing on Court of Protection work as well as ancillary matters such as ordinary residence, responsibilities under the Care Act 2014; on Local Government Administration and Judicial Review Proceedings.
Conducting a full range of adult service cases, including those raising complex or major issues and undertaking advocacy in the Courts and Tribunals, where rights of audience permit this.
This includes advising on evidence and procedure and the conduct of any trials and undertaking the preparation of cases (including the checking of documentation), evaluating evidence and drafting court applications/documentation as required.
To handle child protection cases as required expeditiously by evaluating evidence, formulating reports and drafting proceedings.
Hybrid role: 2 days in office, 3 days working from home.
