We are currently recruiting 10 Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join a busy and well-established environmental services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals with grounds maintenance or outdoor labouring experience to secure consistent, full-time work with weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining parks, open spaces, and public areas to a high standard.
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance.
- Hedge trimming and shrub care.
- Litter picking and cleaning of outdoor furniture.
- Maintenance of flower beds, planting areas, and ornamental displays.
- Preparation and upkeep of sports pitches.
- Safe application of weed control treatments.
- Carrying out minor tree works.
- Supporting landscaping projects.
- Playground inspections and basic maintenance.
- Ensuring all sites are left secure (locking gates, safeguarding keys etc.).
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health & safety practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for outdoor work.
- Experience using grounds maintenance equipment is desirable.
- Relevant tickets or certificates (e.g. spraying, machinery) are advantageous.
The Role
- Working across parks, streets, and public spaces.
- Delivering high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
- Supporting the wider team in maintaining welcoming environments for the public.
- Assisting with preventing misuse of public spaces.
