About the Role: Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Rent Arrears and Recovery Officer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring rent accounts, preventing arrears, and taking action to recover outstanding debts. You will work closely with tenants, landlords, and internal teams to ensure rent payments are made on time while providing support to those experiencing financial difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage rent arrears cases, ensuring prompt and effective recovery actions.
- Contact tenants via phone, email, and letters regarding overdue payments.
- Negotiate payment plans with tenants in financial difficulty while adhering to company policies.
- Issue formal notices and escalate cases to legal proceedings if necessary.
- Conduct regular account audits and update records accurately.
- Provide advice and support to tenants regarding financial assistance and budgeting.
- Work collaboratively with housing officers, legal teams, and external agencies.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation of recovery actions taken.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in rent collection, debt recovery, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of housing laws, rent recovery processes, and legal procedures.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
