We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a busy estates team, helping to maintain and enhance communal outdoor spaces to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and undertaking physically demanding tasks. You will be provided with the tools, machinery, uniform, safety boots, and personal protective equipment required to carry out your duties safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of grounds maintenance duties including weeding, planting, pruning, watering, hoeing, dead-heading, and general upkeep of communal gardens and landscaped areas.
  • Cut and maintain lawns and grassed areas using a variety of equipment, including pedestrian mowers, ride-on mowers, tractors, strimmers, and brush cutters.
  • Apply fertilisers and pesticides where required and in accordance with relevant guidelines.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and in line with manufacturer instructions and health and safety procedures.
  • Undertake small-scale landscaping projects to improve the appearance of communal outdoor spaces.
  • Remove leaves, moss, and snow when required and apply grit or salt during adverse weather conditions.
  • Respond promptly to vandalism, including graffiti removal, and report incidents as appropriate.
