Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential extension)

Pay Rate: £15.19 per hour PAYE
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Caretaker to join the Estates team, based at the Woodford depot. This is a hands-on role carrying out general estate cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure estates are kept safe, clean, and well-presented for residents and the wider community.
A full UK driving licence is essential, as you will be required to travel between sites using a council vehicle.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day cleaning of communal areas, including sweeping, litter picking, and waste removal.

Undertake minor maintenance and repair tasks to communal facilities.
*
Monitor estate standards and report any health & safety issues, repairs, or hazards.
*
Assist with bulk rubbish collection and removal.
*
Carry out seasonal work, such as gritting in winter.
*
Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are used safely and maintained in good condition.
*
Work flexibly as part of a team, supporting colleagues and responding to service needs.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Previous caretaking, cleaning and/or estate maintenance experience (required).
*
Ability to carry out manual handling tasks and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
*
Basic maintenance/DIY skills.
*
Good communication skills and ability to interact with residents and colleagues professionally.
*
Strong awareness of health & safety procedures.
*
Full UK driving licence (essential).
