We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assessing Social Worker to join a Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team within a North London local authority environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about fostering and committed to supporting children and families through high-quality assessment and recruitment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and assess individuals and families interested in becoming foster carers or Supported Lodging Hosts
- Deliver pre-approval training, including Skills to Foster
- Complete Form F assessments, Host Assessments and specialist fostering assessments
- Participate in the team and service duty rota several days per month
- Contribute to team initiatives, including support groups and training for carers
- Attend outreach and marketing events to promote fostering services
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with post-qualification experience, ideally within fostering or assessment services
- Experienced in completing fostering assessments with strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including:
- Children Act 1989
- Fostering Services Regulations 2011
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Registration with Social Work England
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Right to work in the UK
