You’ll support the management of a varied client portfolio, deliver high-quality accounting and tax services, and play an important role in developing junior team members.

The Role

As Assistant Client Manager, you’ll work closely with Managers and Partners while taking ownership of client work and relationships. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the management of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing practical advice
  • Reviewing work prepared by juniors and providing guidance and feedback
  • Managing workflow, deadlines and quality standards across assignments
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients and improving internal processes
  • Supporting Managers with client meetings and advisory work where appropriate
  • Building strong internal relationships and contributing to a collaborative team culture

This role offers a strong balance of technical work, client interaction and people development.

About You

You’ll be a confident and organised practice professional with ambition to progress. You will:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Have experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Be confident preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns
  • Have strong communication skills and a professional client-facing manner
  • Be comfortable supporting and reviewing the work of junior colleagues
  • Be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrate a clear desire to progress toward Client Manager level and beyond
