This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in Weston-super-Mare. You’ll work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, delivering high-quality accounting and tax services while supporting the development of junior team members.

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for managing client work and supporting the wider team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and personal tax returns
  • Producing management accounts and advising clients on financial performance
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing practical advice
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and offering guidance and support
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time
  • Supporting client meetings and contributing to advisory projects where appropriate
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new clients and improving internal processes

This role offers a strong balance of technical work, client interaction and mentoring responsibility.

About You

You’ll be a confident and detail-oriented accountant with strong practice experience. You will:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Have experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
  • Be confident preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns
  • Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
  • Enjoy supporting and developing junior colleagues
  • Be motivated to progress your career within practice
