Senior Accountant job in Walsall with a well-established and growing accountancy practice. This is a fully office-based role, ideally suited to an experienced practice accountant living within a reasonable commuting distance of Walsall.
The firm is looking for an Accounts Senior / Senior Accountant who enjoys hands-on general practice work and managing a varied client portfolio.
The Role
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Corporation tax and personal tax returns
- VAT returns (standard, flat rate and other schemes)
- Bookkeeping and double-entry accounting
- Liaising directly with clients and providing practical advice
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate
- Is ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)
- Has strong experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Is confident preparing accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Has hands-on experience with VAT, tax and general practice compliance
- Is comfortable managing a client portfolio and dealing with clients directly
- Has experience using software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, CCH, TaxCalc or similar
Candidates currently working as Senior Accountant, Accounts Senior, Practice Accountant or Assistant Manager are encouraged to apply.
