The Role

As Tax Manager, you’ll take ownership of your own client portfolio, providing expert tax advice to individuals and businesses across the South West. You’ll manage both personal and corporate tax compliance, oversee junior staff, and support partners with complex planning assignments.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a portfolio of personal, partnership, and corporate tax clients
  • Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns and computations
  • Providing proactive tax planning and advisory support to business owners and high-net-worth individuals
  • Assisting partners with corporate restructures, capital gains, and inheritance tax planning
  • Overseeing junior team members, reviewing work, and providing training
  • Building long-term client relationships through exceptional service and communication
  • Keeping up to date with tax legislation and ensuring full compliance
About You

You’ll be a technically strong tax professional with excellent communication and leadership skills. You will:

  • Be CTA, ACA, ACCA, or ATT qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Have at least 4–5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
  • Possess solid technical knowledge across personal and corporate tax
  • Be confident advising on a range of planning and compliance matters
  • Be organised, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • Enjoy mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Have excellent communication skills and a proactive, client-focused approach

Experience in inheritance tax, capital gains, or trusts would be an advantage but is not essential.
