You’ll work with individuals, owner-managed businesses and family groups across a range of sectors, supporting both compliance and advisory assignments within a friendly, collaborative team.
The Role
As Tax Senior, you will take responsibility for your own portfolio and provide a broad mix of compliance and advisory services. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts
- Assisting with corporate tax compliance, including drafting computations and returns
- Managing a personal portfolio and acting as the day‑to‑day contact for clients
- Supporting managers and partners with advisory work including:
- Capital gains tax planning
- Inheritance tax considerations
- Shareholder and business restructuring
- Tax‑efficient remuneration planning
- Responding to HMRC enquiries and assisting with correspondence
- Helping to train and mentor junior team members
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within deadlines
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent service
This is a role offering strong exposure across both personal and corporate tax, with room to specialise as your career develops.
About You
You’ll be a motivated and detail-oriented tax professional who enjoys client contact and producing high-quality work. You will:
- Be ATT qualified, CTA part‑qualified or qualified by experience
- Have experience in personal tax compliance within a UK accountancy practice
- Ideally have some exposure to corporate tax (training can be provided)
- Possess strong technical knowledge of income tax and capital gains tax
- Be confident communicating with clients at all levels
- Be organised and proactive, able to manage deadlines independently
- Have good working knowledge of tax software (CCH, IRIS or similar)
- Enjoy contributing to a supportive and collaborative team culture
A desire to develop your advisory skills and progress within the firm will be strongly encouraged.
