Are you a senior corporate tax specialist ready to step into a strategic leadership role? This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Corporate Tax Director to join a respected and forward-thinking firm based in Southampton. You’ll lead a growing corporate tax team, deliver high-value advisory work, and play a central role in driving the commercial and strategic direction of the tax function.

The Role

As Corporate Tax Director, you will take the lead on the firm’s corporate tax offering, managing a high-quality portfolio and overseeing both advisory and compliance services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • Producing accurate and timely management accounts
  • Preparing corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and related computations
  • Providing feedback, support and informal supervision to junior team members
  • Managing your own client portfolio and building strong working relationships
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries and providing financial insights
  • Ensuring all work is delivered accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Embracing cloud accounting software and supporting the firm’s continuous improvement initiatives

This is a role with genuine influence, allowing you to shape the future of the corporate tax offering.

About You

You’ll be a commercially minded and technically strong tax professional with the confidence to lead, advise and influence at a senior level. You will:

  • Be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Have extensive corporate tax experience within an accountancy or professional services environment
  • Be confident handling complex advisory work, including reorganisations, transactions, and strategic planning projects
  • Have experience managing and developing a team
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong commercial awareness
  • Bring a proactive mindset with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Thrive in a role where you can combine leadership, technical expertise and strategic thinking
