The Role

As Senior Employment Tax Manager, you’ll manage a broad portfolio of clients and deliver strategic advice on employment tax compliance and advisory matters. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll drive client service excellence, mentor team members, and contribute to firm-wide growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex employment tax and PAYE compliance across diverse clients
  • Advising on IR35, termination payments, benefits-in-kind, and share incentive schemes
  • Leading client engagements on workforce planning, reward strategy, and global mobility
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for clients and HMRC on all employment tax matters
  • Supporting leadership in business development and client acquisition
  • Coaching and developing junior team members to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Staying up to date with employment tax legislation and implementing best practice

About You

You’ll be a technically strong, commercially focused tax professional who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and leading teams. You will:

  • Be CTA, ATT, ACA, or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Have significant experience in employment tax compliance and advisory within a practice or consultancy environment
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of UK employment tax rules, PAYE, and benefit structures
  • Have excellent client management, communication, and project leadership skills
  • Be proactive, analytical, and able to identify commercial opportunities
  • Enjoy mentoring others and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
