This role is ideal for a CTA, ACA or ACCA-qualified professional with strong experience in personal tax, corporate tax, trust tax, tax compliance and tax advisory within accountancy practice.

Role Overview – Personal, Corporate & Trust Tax
As Tax Manager, you will manage a mixed portfolio of personal, corporate and trust clients across Saffron Walden, Cambridge, Bishop’s Stortford, Haverhill, Royston, Newmarket and the wider Essex and Cambridgeshire region. The role focuses on tax compliance, tax planning and advisory services, supporting private clients, trusts and owner-managed businesses.
This role offers a balance of compliance and advisory work, alongside the opportunity to support the development of junior tax professionals and build long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a mixed portfolio of personal, corporate and trust tax clients
- Oversee tax compliance, including self-assessment, corporate tax returns and trust tax returns
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to individuals, trusts, SMEs and owner-managed businesses
- Review tax computations and tax returns prepared by junior team members
- Support clients with capital gains tax (CGT), inheritance tax (IHT), trust planning and business structuring advice
- Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted adviser
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide commercially focused advice
- Mentor and develop junior members of the tax team
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and current UK tax legislation
Skills and Qualifications
- CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Strong experience in personal tax, corporate tax and ideally trust taxation within accountancy practice
- Excellent knowledge of UK tax legislation, tax compliance and HMRC regulations
- Experience reviewing tax returns and managing client tax portfolios
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to deliver clear, practical tax advice to clients
- Well organised with the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
