The Role

As Assistant Tax Manager, you’ll support senior colleagues while managing your own diverse portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
  • Preparing and reviewing tax returns and computations
  • Supporting advisory projects, including CGT, IHT, restructuring, and remuneration planning
  • Liaising directly with clients and HMRC
  • Conducting research and drafting advisory reports
  • Supporting junior team members and reviewing work
  • Contributing to internal process improvement and technical development

About You

You’ll be a motivated tax professional with a strong technical foundation and a desire to progress. You will:

  • Be CTA qualified/part-qualified, or ACA/ACCA with a strong tax background
  • Have experience in personal and/or corporate tax within a UK practice
  • Be a strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
  • Be confident managing deadlines and balancing competing workloads
  • Be ambitious, proactive, and eager to progress to Manager level
