You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a broad and varied client base.

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll take ownership of a client portfolio and oversee all aspects of accounts preparation, tax compliance, and advisory support. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring junior team members and helping drive efficiency and quality across the department.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and VAT returns
  • Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and feedback
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports for clients across multiple sectors
  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact and building trusted relationships
  • Supporting clients with business planning, budgeting, and ad hoc financial advice
  • Liaising with HMRC and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Assisting with audits where required and supporting senior colleagues on complex assignments
  • Keeping up to date with developments in accounting and tax standards
About You

You’ll be a technically strong, client-focused accountant who thrives in a collaborative and professional environment. You will:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
  • Have at least 3–5 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax compliance
  • Be confident managing client relationships and providing proactive advice
  • Have experience reviewing the work of junior colleagues and supporting their development
  • Be detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple assignments
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a motivated team player who enjoys working closely with clients and colleagues

Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage would be advantageous.
