The Role
As Tax Manager, you’ll oversee the delivery of both compliance and advisory services across a varied and interesting client portfolio. You’ll work closely with partners, manage a team of tax professionals, and take ownership of client relationships, ensuring an exceptional standard of service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients across a range of industries
- Reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns prepared by the team
- Providing tax planning and advisory support on matters such as business restructures, remuneration planning, share schemes, and succession planning
- Leading client meetings and offering proactive commercial advice
- Supporting clients with HMRC enquiries and compliance reviews
- Managing, mentoring, and developing junior and senior tax team members
- Monitoring workflow, budgets, and deadlines to ensure efficient service delivery
- Contributing to the firm’s wider business development and client growth strategies
- Keeping up to date with tax legislation changes and sharing knowledge across the team
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced and commercially minded tax professional with strong leadership skills.
- Be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Have extensive experience in a mixed or corporate tax role within practice
- Be confident managing your own portfolio and delivering complex advisory work
- Have experience managing and reviewing the work of other team members
- Be an excellent communicator with strong client relationship management skills
- Demonstrate strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- Be commercially aware, with an interest in helping clients grow their businesses
- Be a proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
