You’ll lead a varied portfolio of clients, manage a team of talented tax professionals, and play a key role in delivering compliance and advisory services across multiple sectors.
The Role
As Corporate Tax Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of corporate tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to larger corporate groups. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to identify planning opportunities, manage risks, and deliver tailored tax solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the delivery of corporate tax compliance services for a diverse client portfolio
- Leading and reviewing complex corporation tax computations and returns
- Providing proactive tax planning and advisory services including group reorganisations, acquisitions, disposals, R&D claims, and capital allowances
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and trusted relationships
- Supporting business owners and financial directors with strategic tax advice
- Overseeing, mentoring, and developing junior and assistant managers within the tax team
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the department
- Liaising with HMRC and resolving client queries efficiently
- Assisting with business development and supporting Partners on tax projects and proposals
- Keeping up to date with tax legislation and communicating key developments to clients and colleagues
About You
You’ll be a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional who thrives on client interaction and leadership. You will:
- Be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant corporate tax experience in practice
- Have experience managing corporate tax compliance and advisory projects
- Be confident in building and maintaining client relationships at a senior level
- Have solid technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
- Possess strong leadership skills, with experience supervising and developing a team
- Be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a commercial mindset and the ability to identify growth opportunities
- Experience advising on M&A, R&D tax relief, and group restructuring would be advantageous but not essential.
