The Role
- Lead statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery to a high technical standard.
- Leading audits for a broad portfolio of clients, including SMEs, groups and specialist entities.
- Planning audit assignments, identifying risk areas and agreeing scope with clients.
- Managing onsite and remote fieldwork, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Reviewing audit files, testing, and working papers prepared by trainees and semi seniors.
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP/FRS 102.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, resolving queries and building trust.
- Highlighting audit findings and control weaknesses to managers and partners.
- Mentoring junior staff, supporting their development and performance.
- Ensuring jobs stay on track to time budgets and deadlines.

About You
- You’ll be a confident, proactive auditor with strong technical knowledge and a client-focused mindset.
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified or finalist (or equivalent).
- Have solid UK practice experience in external audit.
- Be confident leading audits from planning to completion.
- Possess strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and FRS 102.
- Be comfortable reviewing the work of junior staff and providing guidance.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be organised, deadline-driven and able to manage multiple engagements.
- Show ambition to progress into Assistant Manager / Manager level.
- Experience with audit software and cloud accounting systems is beneficial.
