This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and forward-thinking firm in Leatherhead. You’ll work closely with a varied portfolio of clients, deliver high standards of accounts and tax work, and support the development of junior colleagues.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of accounts and advisory services across a broad client base. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Producing management accounts and supporting clients with meaningful financial insight
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns, with exposure to personal tax where required
- Managing your own portfolio of clients, acting as their day-to-day point of contact
- Supporting clients with accounting, compliance and business queries in a clear, commercial way
- Reviewing work prepared by juniors and providing guidance, feedback and training
- Ensuring assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently and to deadlines
- Supporting managers and partners on more complex accounting or advisory projects
This role offers a strong mix of technical delivery, client management and team support.
About You
You’ll be a confident, technically strong accounting professional with experience in practice. You will:
- Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Have solid experience working in a UK accountancy practice at Senior or similar level
- Be confident preparing and reviewing accounts for a range of client types
- Possess strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax basics
- Be comfortable managing client relationships and explaining findings clearly
- Have excellent organisation, attention to detail and deadline management skills
- Enjoy mentoring junior staff and contributing to a collaborative team culture
- Be proactive, solutions-focused and keen to keep developing
- Experience with cloud accounting systems (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar) is beneficial.
