This is an exciting opportunity for an Audit Manager to join a growing firm in Inverness.
You’ll lead audit engagements, oversee a diverse client portfolio and play a key role in developing a strong, high-performing audit team.
The RoleAs Audit Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the efficient delivery of audit services while building strong, trusted client relationships. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors
- Leading audits from planning and risk assessment through to fieldwork and completion
- Preparing audit strategies, allocating resources and overseeing team workflow
- Reviewing audit files, financial statements and supporting working papers
- Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, providing clear, commercial and proactive advice
- Coaching, supervising and mentoring Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and trainees
- Ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time and in line with professional standards
- Supporting senior leadership with technical projects, internal improvements and service development
- Identifying opportunities to support clients beyond statutory audit, including advisory work
This is a hands-on role with strong leadership and client-management responsibilities.
About YouYou’ll be a confident and technically strong audit professional with proven experience in practice. You will be:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Have significant external audit experience within a UK accountancy firm
- Confident managing audits end-to-end and leading fieldwork teams
- Possess excellent technical knowledge of auditing standards and UK GAAP/FRS 102
- Have experience supervising, reviewing and developing junior team members
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a professional client-facing approach
- Bring a collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to the team’s long-term success
Experience working with a broad mix of SMEs, charities or group structures is beneficial.
