Tax Senior

This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Senior to join a well-established accountancy practice in Huddersfield. You’ll work with a varied portfolio of personal and business clients, delivering high-quality tax compliance services while gaining exposure to advisory work in a collaborative team environment.

The Role

As Tax Senior, you’ll take responsibility for managing tax compliance work and supporting advisory projects across a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts.
  • Supporting corporate tax compliance, including drafting computations and returns.
  • Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact.
  • Handling HMRC correspondence, enquiries and disclosures.
  • Assisting with advisory work including capital gains tax, inheritance tax and tax planning.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value and provide proactive tax advice.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
  • Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and best practice.

This role offers a strong mix of compliance and advisory exposure, with scope to specialise as your career develops.

About You

You’ll be a motivated and detail-oriented tax professional with solid practice experience.

You will:

  • Be ATT qualified, CTA part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Have experience in a UK accountancy practice within a tax-focused role.
  • Possess good technical knowledge of personal tax and related matters.
  • Ideally have some exposure to corporate tax (though this is not essential).
  • Be confident managing your own workload and client relationships.
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Be proactive, reliable and keen to develop your career further.
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
