An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to take ownership of a substantial personal tax portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident professional looking to manage their own client base while working within a supportive and technically strong team.

You will be responsible for overseeing personal tax clients, handling compliance and advisory work across income tax, capital gains tax (CGT), and general tax matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including directors, sole traders, and landlords
  • Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and HMRC
  • Handle queries relating to income tax, CGT, and general tax compliance
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver a high level of service
  • Support efficient workflows within a paperless, digital tax environment

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a personal tax role within practice
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume client portfolio independently
  • Strong working knowledge of self-assessment, income tax, and CGT
  • General awareness of IHT and wider tax areas (desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confident using tax software (experience with CCH advantageous)
  • Strong IT skills and adaptability to digital systems
Qualifications & Development
  • ATT / CTA / ACCA or equivalent beneficial but not essential
  • Ongoing CPD support and funded training opportunities available
