The Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll take responsibility for preparing and reviewing accounts, supporting junior team members, and providing clear, practical advice to clients. You’ll work closely with business owners, ensuring their accounting, tax, and compliance needs are met with accuracy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparing management accounts and providing insightful financial reporting
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing constructive feedback
  • Preparing corporation tax returns and assisting with personal tax computations
  • Communicating with clients to resolve queries and explain financial results
  • Liaising with HMRC and other external bodies as required
  • Managing workflow to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Assisting with process improvements and supporting the continued development of the accounts team

About You

You’ll be a proactive and detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working with clients and taking ownership of your work. You will:

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience).
  • Have at least 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Be confident preparing and reviewing accounts for a range of clients.
  • Have a solid understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Be organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple assignments.
  • Have experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or CCH.
