You’ll manage a varied tax portfolio, deliver both compliance and advisory services, and play a key role in supporting clients and developing the wider tax function.
The Role
As Tax Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the delivery and development of tax services across a diverse client base. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients
- Reviewing complex tax returns and computations
- Providing tax advisory support on matters such as remuneration planning, capital gains tax and succession planning
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, offering proactive and commercially focused advice
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing enquiries
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting business development
- Leading, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior tax team members
- Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and best practice
This role offers a strong balance of technical work, client interaction and leadership responsibility.
About You
- Be CTA, ATT, ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Have experience working within a UK accountancy practice in a tax-focused role
- Possess strong technical knowledge across personal and/or corporate tax
- Be comfortable managing your own client portfolio
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate a desire to progress and develop within a managerial role
