You’ll lead a varied portfolio of clients, manage a team of talented tax professionals, and play a key role in delivering compliance and advisory services across multiple sectors.

The Role

As Corporate Tax Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of corporate tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses and SMEs to larger corporate groups. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to identify planning opportunities, manage risks, and deliver tailored tax solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the delivery of corporate tax compliance services for a diverse client portfolio
  • Leading and reviewing complex corporation tax computations and returns
  • Providing proactive tax planning and advisory services including group reorganisations, acquisitions, disposals, R&D claims, and capital allowances
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, developing strong and trusted relationships
  • Supporting business owners and financial directors with strategic tax advice
  • Overseeing, mentoring, and developing junior and assistant managers within the tax team
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency within the department
  • Liaising with HMRC and resolving client queries efficiently
  • Assisting with business development and supporting Partners on tax projects and proposals
  • Keeping up to date with tax legislation and communicating key developments to clients and colleagues

About You

You’ll be a technically strong and commercially minded tax professional who thrives on client interaction and leadership. You will:

  • Be CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant corporate tax experience in practice
  • Have experience managing corporate tax compliance and advisory projects
  • Be confident in building and maintaining client relationships at a senior level
  • Have solid technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
  • Possess strong leadership skills, with experience supervising and developing a team
  • Be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate a commercial mindset and the ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Experience advising on M&A, R&D tax relief, and group restructuring would be advantageous but not essential.
