Audit Manager

This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit Manager to join a modern and expanding firm in Edinburgh. You’ll take responsibility for leading audit engagements, developing staff and maintaining strong client relationships within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As Audit Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality statutory audits across a varied portfolio of clients.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries
Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring high technical standards
Preparing risk assessments, audit plans and resource requirements
Reviewing audit files, financial statements and supporting working papers
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear and commercially focused advice
Supervising, coaching and mentoring Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and trainees
Ensuring audit work is completed efficiently, within deadlines and in line with professional standards
Supporting senior leadership with workflow planning, process improvement and technical initiatives
Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and support wider business development
This position combines hands‑on technical responsibility with leadership and client management.
About You
You’ll be a confident and commercially aware audit professional with strong leadership skills.
Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Have significant external audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
Be comfortable managing audit assignments end‑to‑end
Possess excellent technical knowledge of auditing standards and UK GAAP/FRS 102
Have experience supervising and developing junior staff
Be proactive, well organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
Demonstrate strong communication skills and a professional, client‑focused approach
Bring a positive attitude and a commitment to supporting team growth
Experience working with a broad range of sectors will be beneficial.
