You’ll take responsibility for leading audit engagements, developing staff and maintaining strong client relationships within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As Audit Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality statutory audits across a varied portfolio of clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries
  • Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring high technical standards
  • Preparing risk assessments, audit plans and resource requirements
  • Reviewing audit files, financial statements and supporting working papers
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing clear and commercially focused advice
  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring Audit Seniors, Semi Seniors and trainees
  • Ensuring audit work is completed efficiently, within deadlines and in line with professional standards
  • Supporting senior leadership with workflow planning, process improvement and technical initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and support wider business development

This position combines hands-on technical responsibility with leadership and client management.

About You

You’ll be a confident and commercially aware audit professional with strong leadership skills.

  • Be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Have significant external audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Be comfortable managing audit assignments end-to-end
  • Possess excellent technical knowledge of auditing standards and UK GAAP/FRS 102
  • Have experience supervising and developing junior staff
  • Be proactive, well organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
  • Bring a positive attitude and a commitment to supporting team growth
