Senior Tax Manager

Are you a confident and commercially minded tax leader looking to take the next step in your career?

A well-established and respected accountancy practice based in Coventry is seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Manager to join its growing tax department.

This is a strategic hire that reflects the firm’s ongoing success and ambition, offering a clear path to Director level for the right person. You’ll be taking on a pivotal role with high levels of autonomy and responsibility, managing a broad portfolio of clients and overseeing complex tax matters across both compliance and advisory work.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead the firm’s tax offering, managing a portfolio of high-value personal and corporate clients
• Deliver technical expertise on a wide range of matters including corporation tax, personal tax planning, capital gains, inheritance tax, and business structuring
• Handle and oversee complex advisory projects while ensuring quality compliance is maintained across the team
• Support and mentor junior team members, encouraging development and continuous improvement
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the firm’s tax service line
• Liaise directly with clients, building long-term relationships and delivering a high standard of service
• Work closely with the partners to support wider firm strategy and succession planning

Candidate Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified with significant post-qualification experience
• A strong technical grasp of UK tax legislation across both personal and corporate tax
• Proven experience managing a portfolio and handling complex advisory work
• Commercially aware with a track record of developing client relationships
• An inspiring leader with experience managing and developing a tax team
• Ambitious and forward-thinking, with a desire to progress into a director-level role
