This Employment Tax Manager job in Birmingham offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the firm’s employment tax services, working with a diverse portfolio of clients and providing expert advice on all aspects of employment tax.
Role Responsibilities
- Providing expert advice on employment tax matters, including PAYE, NIC, employee benefits, and expenses
- Assisting clients with employment status issues, IR35 compliance, and off-payroll working regulations
- Advising on salary sacrifice schemes, termination payments, and HMRC enquiries
- Identifying and delivering employment tax planning opportunities for clients
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on employment tax issues
- Supporting compliance reviews and audits to ensure adherence to employment tax regulations
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to deliver comprehensive client solutions
- Contributing to business development activities to grow the employment tax service offering

Candidate Requirements
- CTA or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent experience) with significant experience in employment tax
- Strong technical knowledge of employment tax legislation, including IR35, PAYE, NIC, and employee benefits
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality advice and solutions
- Confidence in liaising with HMRC and handling complex queries
- A commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for client growth and added value
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
What’s On Offer
