The Role

As Senior Tax Manager, you'll play a key role within the firm's private client tax team, focusing on complex personal tax and estate planning matters. You'll advise on inheritance tax, trusts, and succession planning, while also overseeing the delivery of compliance work and managing a team of tax professionals.

  • Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners.
  • Providing detailed advice on inheritance tax (IHT), trusts, estate planning, and capital gains tax.
  • Supporting clients with complex personal tax issues, including residency, domicile, and succession planning.
  • Preparing and reviewing complex personal tax returns and trust accounts.
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of the tax team, providing guidance and training.
  • Overseeing compliance processes to ensure all returns and filings are accurate and timely.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other professional advisers, including solicitors and financial planners.
  • Contributing to business development through client referrals, networking, and strengthening existing relationships.
  • Staying up to date with tax legislation changes and ensuring clients receive timely, practical advice.

About You

The successful candidate will be an accomplished private client tax specialist with strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.

  • Be CTA and/or STEP qualified (STEP qualification essential, or willingness to work towards it).
  • Have significant post-qualification experience within private client or personal tax in practice.
  • Have extensive expertise in inheritance tax, trusts, and estate planning.
  • Be confident advising clients on complex personal tax planning and succession structures.
  • Possess strong leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Have a proactive, client-focused approach with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
