Are you an experienced auditor and accountant looking for a varied role in a supportive and ambitious firm?

This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Senior to join a highly regarded firm in Chester, combining audit responsibilities with accounts preparation and tax compliance.

This well-established practice provides audit, accounts, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base, including SMEs, charities, and larger corporate groups. The Role

As Audit & Accounts Senior, you’ll take ownership of assignments from planning to completion, supervise junior colleagues, and work directly with clients across a variety of sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading statutory audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork, and completion.
  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Drafting corporation tax computations to support accounts preparation.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members, providing feedback and mentoring.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients, resolving queries and providing advice.
  • Liaising with managers and partners to support client service delivery.
  • Ensuring assignments are completed on time and in line with relevant standards.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or finalist) with experience in practice.
  • Have strong technical knowledge of both audit and accounts preparation.
  • Be confident in leading audits and reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
  • Possess excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Be proactive, motivated, and committed to continuous professional development.
