We are seeking a talented and passionate Maitre D to join our new opening, The Horses! Opening in August 2026, The Horses will bring a fresh hospitality offering to Farringdon. Set within a building that has long been part of the local community, the venue will combine a pub atmosphere with exceptional dining, quality drinks, and attentive service across multiple floors. We are building a team that prides itself on delivering authentic hospitality, who are collaborative and create a genuinely warm, welcoming environment for every guest. This is an opportunity to join a new opening and help shape the venue from day one, becoming part of a business that values quality, teamwork, and a shared passion for great service.

Salary: up to £14.00 per hour (Service Charge - Earn up to £19 per hour)

A snapshot of what you'll be doing as a Maitre D:

  • Warmly welcome guests as they enter the building/restaurant, assist getting them seated promptly and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, offering menu information and assisting with special requests.
  • Foster a positive atmosphere by maintaining a friendly, calm and courteous demeanour whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage waitlists during peak times and manage expectations by keeping guests informed of wait times.
  • Collaborative teamwork, communicate effectively with front of house team to ensure a smooth dining experience for all guests.

About you, our new Maitre D:

  • Previous experience as a Maitre D or similar role within hospitality.
  • Positive and friendly attitude, with a willingness to work collaboratively with the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for guests.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Previous experience in a high-end and high-volume establishment is preferable but not imperative.
  • We're looking for Maitre D's with big personalities and a natural flair for making people feel welcome.
