We are looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen in a busy, friendly cafe based in Gagingwell. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who loves fresh, simple food and thrives in a fast-paced daytime environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing simple, delicious breakfasts and lunches using fresh, seasonal ingredients. From hearty sandwiches and soups to daily specials and baked goods, everything we serve is made with care and attention. You’ll run the kitchen day-to-day — keeping things organised, well-stocked, and running smoothly — while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Location - The Old Coal yard, Gagingwell, Chipping Norton, OX7 4EF

Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 Per annum. Monday - Friday with flexibility to work weekends when required.

What you'll be doing as a Head chef:

  • Preparing and delivering high-quality breakfasts and lunches
  • Creating seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced ingredients
  • Managing kitchen operations, including stock control and ordering
  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards
  • Contributing new ideas to keep the menu exciting and relevant
  • Supporting the overall running of the Cafe and kitchen

About you, our new Head chef:

  • Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Passion for fresh, deli-style food
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • Food Safety Level 3 Certification (or willingness to complete a course provided by us)
  • A creative mindset and a genuine love for hospitality.
