We are seeking a talented and knowledgeable Assistant Bar Manager to join our new opening, The Horses! Opening in September 2026, The Horses will bring a fresh hospitality offering to Farringdon. Set within a building that has long been part of the local community, the venue will combine a pub atmosphere with exceptional dining, quality drinks, and attentive service across multiple floors. We are building a team that prides itself on delivering authentic hospitality, who are collaborative and create a genuinely warm, welcoming environment for every guest. Salary: Base salary 35,000 per annum + service charge (Circa 12,000 per annum)

What you'll be doing as an Assistant Bar Manager:

  • Support the Bar Manager in overseeing daily bar operations across all four floors, ensuring smooth, efficient service while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Lead by example on the floor, supervising bartenders during service and helping to create a positive, high-performing team culture.
  • Assist in delivering an exciting drinks offering and a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the guest experience and encourages repeat visits.
  • Support stock management processes, including monitoring inventory levels, tracking usage, receiving deliveries, and assisting with ordering to minimise wastage.
  • Coach, train, and develop bar team members, providing ongoing support to help improve performance and promote career progression within the business.
  • Collaborate with the Bar Manager and wider management team to implement new initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and drive revenue growth.
  • Ensure company policies, licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and service standards are consistently followed.

About you, our new Assistant Bar Manager:

  • Proven experience as a Head Bartender or Assistant Bar Manager in a high-end high-volume venue.
  • Advantageous if you have previous experience in fine dining or high-end restaurants.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, manage and develop a diverse team.
  • Positive and friendly attitude, with a willingness to work collaboratively with the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for guests.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
