Pubity Group is looking for a Shortform Video Editor to own post‑production for Pubity, one of the world’s largest social media brands. This is a creative editorial role for someone who lives and breathes internet culture. You’ll be editing original shortform content seen by millions of people every week across Instagram and TikTok, bringing stories to life through pacing, sound design, transitions, and a sharp instinct for what makes people stop scrolling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end‑to‑end editing of shortform video content for Pubity, from first cut to final export.
  • Bring stories to life through strong pacing, purposeful transitions, sound design, meme overlays, slow zooms, animated text, and movement applied to still imagery.
  • Stay deeply plugged into internet culture, trending formats, and the news cycle and translate that awareness into editorial decisions in real time.
  • Ensure all output is platform‑optimised for Instagram Reels and TikTok, with a clear sense of what works in vertical format and why.
  • Maintain brand consistency across tone, visual identity, and format‑specific best practices.

Post‑Production Quality

  • Deliver polished shortform edits at pace and volume, without sacrificing craft.
  • Handle audio mixing, basic colour, motion graphics, and animated text to a high standard.
  • Stay ahead of editing tools, AI‑assisted production techniques, and emerging platform formats to continuously raise output quality.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative Directors and Strategy to ensure edits reflect the intended tone, narrative, and commercial objectives of each brief.
  • Work with Client Services on revision cycles and delivery timelines, maintaining clarity and professionalism throughout.
  • Contribute to scoping conversations early, flagging creative or technical complexity before it becomes a problem.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 - 5+ years' professional video editing experience, with a reel that demonstrates shortform editorial instinct.
  • A genuine feel for internet culture - you know what's trending, why it's trending, and how to apply that to an edit.
  • Demonstrable editorial taste: distinctive pacing, strong story instinct, and an understanding of how to hook and hold an audience in a vertical format.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and preferably After Effects; additional tools a plus.
  • Solid working knowledge of Instagram Reels and TikTok specs, formats, and best practices.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

What Good Looks Like

  • Understands that great shortform editing serves the story, the platform, and the audience - not personal craft preference.
  • Can identify a trending format or cultural moment and know instinctively how to make it work for the brand.
  • Brings texture and intentionality to every edit: nothing is an accident, everything earns its place.
  • Calm under pressure, decisive when it counts.

Nice to Have

  • Experience editing for social publishers, creator‑led media or entertainment brands.
  • Motion design or animation skills (After Effects, Adobe Animate, or similar).
  • An existing awareness of Pubity's content and community.
