Pubity is growing fast. We’ve doubled year on year while maintaining strong profitability and we’re now entering an exciting phase of expansion across new markets, verticals and revenue streams.
We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead the next stage of our finance function.
You’ll play a key role in building a best-in-class team and infrastructure, strengthening financial reporting and controls and providing the insight and strategic support needed to help Pubity scale sustainably.
What You’ll Do
FP&A: Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
- Be hands on with FP&A for the first 6-12 months before bringing in dedicated resource.
- Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process, including bottom-up build-up by department, revenue stream and contribution margin.
- Run monthly management accounts, board reporting packs and the monthly finance & business review, translating the numbers into a clear commercial narrative for leadership and the board.
- Maintain rigorous cash flow forecasting across UK and US entities and manage banking, intercompany transfer pricing and FX exposure between GBP and USD.
- Build toward a proper three-statement financial model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to support scenario planning.
Commercial Finance
- Partner with Sales and Studio leadership on pricing strategy: minimum deal sizes, packaging, premium inventory/slot pricing, and guardrails that protect margin as the business scales.
- Ensure internal controls keep pace with current scale eg catch scope creep and cost overruns on custom deals before they erode margin, and ensure revenue recognition is accurate and consistent between the CRM and the ledger.
- Design and administer sales compensation plans - base/commission structures, accelerators, minimum-deal thresholds and bonus mechanic - that reward the right behaviour (consistent pipeline-building, net-profit contribution) rather than one-off revenue bursts.
- Work with RevOps and sales leadership on pipeline-to-revenue accuracy, forecast attainment by seller and resourcing/hiring decisions that are grounded in the numbers.
Financial Operations, Systems & AI Automation
- Lead and develop the finance team.
- Manage the relationship with our outsourced AP/AR finance partner and other external advisers (audit, tax, payroll), ensuring clean handover of transactional work.
- Own our finance systems stack (Xero, Quickbooks, Fathom, Ramp, and integrations with HubSpot and Monday.com) and continuously look for ways to automate reconciliation, reporting and month-end close using AI tools - in keeping with how the rest of the company already works.
- Maintain strong financial controls (spend management, expense policy, subscription/consultant spend audits) appropriate for a fast-scaling, multi-entity business.
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who can be hands-on with FP&A for 6-12 months before we hire dedicated resource as we scale.
- Previous experience in media ad supported businesses.
- A strong track record designing and running budgeting and reforecasting processes and building genuine commercial/unit-economics insight - not just historical reporting.
- Comfort operating across multiple entities and currencies (UK/US ideal), including intercompany transactions, transfer pricing and FX considerations.
- A genuinely AI-forward, automation-first mindset. You use AI tools daily in your own work and actively look to automate manual finance processes rather than defend them, freeing your team’s time for higher-value analysis.
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent depth of experience; strong Excel/modelling skills and familiarity with modern finance stacks (Xero or similar ledger, spend management tools, CRM-to-ledger reconciliation).
- A hands-on, low-ego operating style, comfortable moving between board-level narrative and getting into the detail of a bonus calculation or a deal’s margin, in a fast-moving, still-scaling business.
Pubity Group is committed to fostering equal opportunities within our organisation. We are dedicated to building a diverse workforce at every level, and we warmly invite all community members to pursue openings with us.
