Pubity Group is looking for a Senior Video Editor to lead post-production output across our portfolio of social-first brands, including Pubity, Memezar, Film Seal, Memelord, and Gamingzar. This is not just an editing seat. You will be responsible for the technical quality and creative consistency of all video output (short and long-form), while also managing and mentoring a team of editors. You'll assign briefs, set standards, and take ownership of delivery, ensuring that output is platform-optimised, on-brand, and commercially effective. You will work closely with Show Development, Creative Directors, Strategy, and Client Services to translate briefs into high-quality, engaging video content at pace and at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Task Management
- Manage and mentor a team of video editors, providing clear direction, ongoing feedback, and structured performance support.
- Assign briefs and projects across the editing team based on skillset, availability, and priority, ensuring workload is balanced and deadlines are met.
- Run regular team check-ins to track progress, unblock issues, and maintain output quality across concurrent projects.
- Identify skills gaps and proactively develop team capability through coaching, training, and shared best practices.
- Brand guardian: ensure all video output aligns with brand tone, visual identity, and platform-specific social media strategies.
- Post-Production & Technical Excellence
- Lead hands-on editing across a range of content types including branded content, organic social, short-form video, and long-form productions.
- Oversee colour grading, audio mixing, motion graphics, and visual effects to a broadcast and social-ready standard, with specific understanding of codec, camera, and colour pipeline (RAW/log, ACES, HDR).
- Maintain and improve post-production workflows, file management systems (RAID, NAS, archival), and export standards across the team.
- Deep understanding of social storytelling, visual composition, and audience-first content creation, ensuring content is optimised for social platform specifications.
- Stay ahead of editing tools, AI-assisted production techniques, and platform innovations to continuously raise production quality.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Creative Directors and Strategy to ensure edits reflect the intended tone, narrative, and commercial objectives of each brief.
- Work with Client Services to manage review cycles, revisions, and delivery timelines with clarity and professionalism.
- Collaborate with Production on shoot planning, on-set technical requirements, and footage handover protocols.
- Contribute to scoping conversations, flagging post-production complexity or resource requirements early in the process.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' professional video editing experience, with a strong reel spanning social, branded content, and/or broadcast.
- Demonstrable editorial taste: a portfolio that shows distinctive pacing, story instinct, and an understanding of how to serve narrative across both short-form and long-form formats.
- Proven experience managing or leading a creative team, including task assignment, feedback delivery, and performance development.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (non-negotiable); experience with DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of colour grading, audio post-production, motion graphics, and VFX compositing.
- Solid working knowledge of social platform specifications and best practices across vertical and horizontal formats.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
What Good Looks Like
- Leads from the front: sets high standards and holds the team to them without micromanaging.
- Understands that great editing serves the story, the platform, and the audience, not just personal craft preference.
- Anticipates production bottlenecks and resolves them before they become client-facing problems.
- Actively explores new tools and techniques, and brings the team along with them.
- Raises the overall output standard of the studio, not just their own work.
Nice to Have
- Experience editing for social publishers, creator-led media, or entertainment brands.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools and their practical application in production pipelines.
- Motion design or animation skills (Adobe Animate, Cinema 4D, or similar).
- Experience contributing to tender or pitch processes, including showreel curation and capability presentations.
Working Style
- Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise clearly when demand is high.
- Direct and constructive communicator, comfortable giving and receiving feedback at all levels.
- Collaborative by instinct, but decisive when the situation requires it.
- Takes ownership of output quality across the team, not just their own edits.
